MASTERCARD
BUTTERFLIES

Small actions can make a big difference in other people's lives.

As a continuation of the campaign "Join In, Start Something Priceless" during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mastercard has launched the film "Butterflies" with an optimistic message, emphasizing that the funds raised from each contactless transaction made with their cards in Brazil are directed towards helping those affected by the pandemic.

In this context, the scenes depict small acts of care and kindness, where each bill or product paid for using their devices gives rise to a butterfly, which, in the end, transforms into donations.

At the beginning of the pandemic, Mastercard had committed to donating the equivalent of 2 million meals to needy communities throughout 2020, a goal that was surpassed in less than two months, with over 4 million meals collected. With this success, the goal was expanded to donate 5 million meals through non-governmental organizations by the end of the year.

The campaign also counted on many activations on social media, such as this special Instagram filter shared by influencers to comunicate and incentivate donations.
